About Counseling
Whether this is your first time considering counseling or you've been in counseling for years, the first step is always the hardest. No matter what you're here for, my goal is to create a place for you to come and leave feeling more understood. Counseling is and will always be more than a just a conversation or advice from a professional. It's a therapeutic relationship. If you are curious about counseling, I'd love to chat more.

Therapy Offerings
Individual Counseling
If you're a Marriage and Family Therapist, does that mean you don't seen individuals?
Although my title is Marriage and Family Therapist, I still work with individuals. Actually about half of the people I see are individuals working through personal challenges. This title simply describes the framework in which I use while working with my clients, which is this: I don't believe I can work with an individual without somehow touching on their relationships. I believe that since relationships influence so much of who we are, that in a way, I'm also working with your family when I work with you.
I see clients often who want therapy for their mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and other mental health difficulties. I am trained to see these difficulties as symptoms of a greater issue, rather than some sort of sickness that needs treated. Some mental health areas I can help with are:
Anxiety/Depression
Grief & Traumatic Loss
Perinatal Mental Health/Infertility/Women's Issues
Betrayal Trauma
Generational Trauma
Religious Trauma
How is this framework helpful?
My clients have been conditioned to feel like something is "wrong" with them. This framework allows them to change this mindset and stop blaming themselves. Rather they begin to understand why they struggle in the first place.
My Approach

Couples Counseling
I love working with all couples who want to improve their relationship. Whether you've been together for 20 years or you're newly dating or engaged, you can always learn something new to strengthen your relationship in couples counseling. I use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy as my treatment model (EFT) and have found great success for my couples.
Do you offer pre-marital counseling?
Yes. I have created my own curriculum using a combination of counseling theories that help couples begin the important conversations necessary for success in starting a life together.
Have you worked with couples going through an affair?
Much of my experience in couples counseling has been working with couples who have been devastated by an affair. Counseling around an affair may involve both individual and couples counseling depending on your circumstances.
Who do you see?

LGBTQ+ couples

Family Counseling
What is family counseling?
Family counseling is exactly as it sounds. There are many reasons why families may seek counseling. If your family could benefit from being in counseling together, you've come to the right place. I love working with families.
